about

This is my 'debut' album. I say that because I wrote an unreleased album previous to this called 'Fear of Failure' that's more of an exploration into production and not worthy of releasing.

This album was created at the beginning of a huge wave in my life. I had just arrived in Los Angeles, met Craig Kohland (aka Sahuna Love), was playing in his amazing band the 'Shamans Dream World Groove Ensemble' and performing regularly with Micheline Berry, the founder of Zen Dancing.

At the time, the band was improvising ecstatic dance journeys using all live music, with some incredible guest musicians and an amazing cast of regulars.

I was also a core member of Moontribe during those years, a legendary collective of DJ's and dancers who were throwing some incredibly deep, shamanic, next level full moon gatherings in the Mohajve Desert of Southern California.

This album represents the culmination of fusing those two worlds together - live ecstatic dance + yoga, and the deep electronic underground.

It was also produced not too long after I had graduated from Jazz school @ Vancouver Island University and so my skills were just beginning to find expression, but were full of theoretical possibilities.

Finally, at this phase of my life I was diving deep into the place where yoga and music meet... healing from a near life ending car accident and finding deep meaning in the profound suffering that life had brought me.

Om Namah Shivaya

Big love to Craig Kohland, Jason Hann, Alex Spurkel, Brian Golum and Jim McGrath for contributing to this album.
